Are You a Bad Tipper?

Boy, I feel kind of cheap. I tip 20% for excellent restaurant service, 15% for solid service and 10% for bad service. So, who wants to serve me?

After posting that article about naked human sushi platters I began to ponder do you tip your naked server?… (Side note, talk about: wanting to play with your food, wanting to play with your utensils, wanting to play with your dishes, speecy spicy dishes, damn hot dishes, spicy food on a steamy platter, hot food on a sexy platter, hot sex as the platter, and eating another woman’s sushi). And then (came) tipping in general. What?

It is getting hot in this here kitchen, so take off all your clothes, and lay still like a platter. What? Nyotaimori.

So, if your server serves as a (nekkid) platter would you tip more than 15%? Do you tip more, if the naked flesh server is for your yellowtail delight??

How well do you tip your regular clothed server?

Neil (for the WSJ) says,

“I usually tip 20% for excellent restaurant service, 15% for solid service and 10% for bad service.”

“I thought I was being generous. Turns out that makes me, at best, an average tipper.”

“Tips have been on the rise for some time. During the 1050’s, people commonly tipped 10% of the bill, says Michael Lynn of the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration. By the 1970s and the 1980s, the standard tip has risen to 15% of the tab. Nowadays, people commonly tip 15% to 20%, with the average tip of 18%.”

“Despite the economic crisis, don’t look for tips to get smaller anytime soon.”
